Southwest Crisis Center Announces Regional Office Transition to Strengthen Long-Term Services

Worthington, MN —January 19, 2026 — The Southwest Crisis Center (SWCC) is announcing a transition to a regional office model designed to support the organization’s long-term sustainability while continuing to provide high-quality advocacy and support services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and sexual exploitation and trafficking across southwest Minnesota.

After thoughtful review of programs, funding, and long-term operational needs, the SWCC will close its Jackson and Luverne offices and provide services through regional centers based in Windom, Pipestone, Worthington, and Slayton.

“While change can bring uncertainty, our mission remains strong,” said Sara Wahl, Executive Director of Southwest Crisis Center. “These steps are being taken to ensure the long-term stability of our organization so we can continue to stand with survivors today and in the years ahead.”

Clients will continue to have access to advocacy, support, and resources without interruption. Residents of both Rock County and Jackson County will continue to be served by the Southwest Crisis Center, with advocates available through the regional service model.

SWCC remains committed to strong partnerships and open communication during this transition. Community partners and referral sources are encouraged to reach out with questions about how services will be accessed or coordinated going forward.

“Our priority is making sure survivors continue to receive compassionate, trauma-informed care, no matter where services are based,” Wahl said. “We deeply value the trust of our communities and are committed to ensuring this transition is as smooth and supportive as possible.”
